ORLANDO, Fla. (October 27, 2009) – In honor of all U.S. military members’ service to the country, Nick Hotel is giving thanks this November with a special “Military Appreciation” program and a mix of patriotic events.  The resort will feature a World War II artifact exhibit, military vehicle tour, Marines’ Birthday Celebration, daily pie brigade and more.

Military Appreciation month activities for Nickelodeon Suites Resort guests include:

  • Pie Brigade:  Daily at 3:15 p.m.

As a special gift to our military heroes, each day we will give our guests a chance to get messy and pie their kids.

  • Hero Splash Bash:  Fridays & Saturdays, 7-9 p.m.

Guests can enjoy music, discounts on massages, poolside activities and get slimed!  The 400-gallon dump tank will soak every family in green SLIME for one messy finale.

  • Family of the Day:  Daily

Every day we will honor one lucky military family with free vouchers to our famous Character Breakfast with SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and friends.  Hang out at the Lagoon Pool and that lucky family could be yours!

  • Marines’ Birthday Celebration:  November 10, 5 p.m.

Kids and their family are invited to join SpongeBob and Team Nick to celebrate the Marine Corps’ 234th Birthday in Studio Nick.  Come get a picture taken with SpongeBob and enjoy cupcakes, punch and pizza.  Plus, sign a special birthday banner that will be sent to Marines overseas.

  • “Military Vehicle Tour”:  November 13, 14, 21 & 22, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Supported by the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, guests will have the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with real life war vehicles from WWII, the Korean War and other historical battles.

  • World War II Living History Exhibit:  November 7 & 29, 9-11 a.m.  and

November 8 & 29, 8-11 a.m.

Genuine artifacts will transport families into a historical experience at this special exhibit.  Located in the mall rotunda, a large collection of artifacts including uniforms, photographs, weapons and field gear will be available for guests to dive into the life of a soldier in battle.

  • Postcards from Home:  Daily

Send a message to a hero.  Design and create a personalized postcard in Nicktoons Café during dinner.  The postcard and postage is courtesy of the Nick Hotel and will benefit Any Soldier®.
